Bite-size tech: Mercedes W07 front wing
The design team at Brackley has taken the rear wing concept and applied it to the front wing’s mainplane, detaching the inner footplate so that the endplate and outer footplate form a separate element.
Much like the design used at the rear of the car, the team has applied metal supports to maintain rigidity as the airflow passes around the wing.
